Succession is a Denver-based progressive metal band with a shady past and a pension for tom-foolery. We have an extensive set list that includes originals and covers, and we're available to play clubs, parties, and dive bars... We're trying to infuse the Denver music scene with some killer progressive metal -- is it ready for this insanity?!? I guess we'll have to wait and see... stay tuned.

Story behind the song
The theme is basically about the injustices of slavery, racism, and any oppression based on the idea of one person being "superior" to another. Could be interpreted as a blast from the past or a glimpse of an uncertain future...
Lyrics
"Creed" Captured in the dead of night Dragged great distances by greedy men Their sole purpose would be to succumb For they were considered lowly scum These captives were dealt cruel injustices Suffering daily from severe abuse Forced to slave in blistering heat Their spirits exhausted by their defeat Imprisoned by beings thought superior Tortured for knowledge of things inferior Planning their vengeance filled with grief Freedom burns bright, shining relief Although free the persecution continued Bigoted eruptions of a racial creed New purposes found in revealing truth Sparked revolution born into youth Battling races destroying each other Supposing the fault lies with the other Men never tolerate alien things Isolation—clipped wings Angry mobs filled the streets Race against race, never peace If only they’d seen the simple solution They may have been spared dissolution Bitter survival their primary concern Without help they’ll never learn The answer simple but masked by hate Hides eternally, too impatient to wait
