Lyrics
At the L station on a muggy summer day A blind man plays for tips for those who walk his way She walks on by annoyed by his infirmity Thinks that he should get a job just like you and me I hear the goats out in the distance I see a stranger standing near On a Sunday morning on a sidewalk in the city A woman begs for change and hopes that someone will take pity He pretends he does not hear her plea to lend a hand Thinks it’s time for folks like him to finally take a stand What you do to the least of my brothers A look around is all you need What you do for the least of these others You’re doin’ it to me I was hungering and thirsting I was a stranger that you let in I was naked with a sickness I was the captive you made a friend
