'Sky of Change' (formerly called 'As It Is') is an alter-ego songwriter/musician Dave S Schweizer (BMI) - another creative fanatic who can't put down the pencil nor stop pushing the 'record' button. Dave is the lyricist and guitarist for the folk/country/soft-rock/pop duo 'Maple Bridge' featuring composer-singer Mark Phillip Lopez of Moth Music. He played guitar and keyboards, wrote and produced songs for the rock band 'Uhle', featuring singer-songwriter and Berklee College of Music graduate, Sarah Uhle. Dave's background also includes having played in a number of Los Angeles area bands. He played bass and lead guitar in 'Lapis'. He was the keyboardist, and later guitarist, for 'Slow Thunder', a mystical country & western/rock band with a wide variety of influences. Dave was also bassist for 'Clean Trash'; a grunge/new metal band. Dave’s material can be found on on releases by various indie labels and has numerous songs available to major labels and artists. He also writes, co-writes and records alternative, adult contemporary, r&b/dance and other genres. Some of his instrumentals and backgrounds are also heard on HBO, MTV, TBS and others. Lyrics
This is Hollywood ©2002 Dave S. Schweizer (BMI) A town of opportunity in the shadow of the sunset Waitina€™ for me Leta€™s see Who do I want to be This is hollywood I know I dona€™t have a dime but it wona€™t take so much time to rise up above the sky THIS IS HOLLYWOOD As far as I can see Stars align the streets People that I meet are kind of strange A young girl or so I guess lying in a dirty mess A man in a glitter dress bummina€™ for change Out here on the city streets you gotta do anything to make ends meet Ita€™s not what you see on TV This is hollywood If you dona€™t play the role of the game You wona€™t become a household name So stake your claim to shame This is hollywood As far as eye can see Stars align the streets So many out here with me still Ia€™m all alone As precious time goes by I recite my lines out loud As a crowd walks by I go unknown Today I cana€™t believe Someone discovered me Now Ia€™m workina€™ on a new scene This is hollywood I finally made the grade but still I dona€™t know if and when Ia€™m gonna get paid At least Ia€™m gettina€™ laid This is hollywood This is hollywood This is hollywood
