Story behind the song
The need for patience while dealing with God and others is at the forefront when I wrote this song. Naturally, I wrote it for myself before thinking of others.
Lyrics
In God’s Time 1. The seasons of the year move on one-by-one. The Moon rings ‘round the Earth; the Earth rings ‘round the Sun. The baby should not walk before it learns to crawl. It’s everything in God’s time. Chorus: In God’s time—in God’s time— Through the eyes of faith I see what God calls mine. I trust in His Word for all that’s right and good— To come to pass in God’s time. 2. Our future plans stand still; can our dreams come true? We wonder if God cares. But only if we knew— His ways are not our ways. Yet, if we will obey, Our dreams come true in God’s time. Chorus: 3. The Savior of the world shall come again someday. The children of the night say, “Jesus, stay away.” The people of the King cry out for His return, But He’ll return in God’s time. Chorus: Copyright by Robert W. (Bobby West) Blackshear, October, 1988.
