A patriotic song about how most Americans take our great life forgranted.
Hi!
My name's Christie Ann. I am a solo artist, not really a "Band" but close enough. :) I sing christian country music and I have recorded and released my debut song "In America". I have been thrilled with it's success on the PowerSource Magazine Christian Country Chart (#27) and I was suprised to find I was nominated for ICM Youth In Music Award this year.
God Bless Ya'll!
Story behind the song
I did not write this song. Many kudos to Tom Paden, and I thank him for letting me record this wonderful song. I think it's great that everyone in America can relate to it.
Lyrics
There's a rise in violent crime.
Taxes are too high.
Acid rain falls from the sky.
In America.
You know things aren't what they should be.
But still, we see apathy.
Everyone's so hard to please,
In America
CHORUS:
Sometimes I take for granted,
What God has given me.
I forget that I am livin',
In the land of the free.
I should be ashamed,
When I complain,
That I don't have what I need.
When there people in this world,
Who would give anything just to be,
In America.
A football game on an autumn day,
Before a single play is made,
We all bow our heads to pray,
In America.
A march for peace down a city street,
Some believe some disagree.
We all have the right to speak,
In America.
CHORUS
BRIDGE:
Are we too blinded by our greed,
To stop and take a look?
Change what we know can be better,
And appreciate the good?
O my country tis of thee.
Land that I love.
Words to seldom spoken,
Here in America.
CHORUS
