The lonesome housewife's lament and maybe a payback solution
Keyboards guitars and singers of easy listening music
Welcome to my world of Music. I have written many songs and have stepped in and out of Country here and there into Pop and World music for I love it all. There are so many genres that I call my music easy listening, though some of it is a bit toe tapping. Be it Classical or Bluegrass be it music. I am a solo act with friends joining me in the performances. I never know who will be singing or playing with me. Age or gender are not a factor with me and I am at home with anyone who enjoys music and it's creation as much as I do

Story behind the song
The lyric is Sharon Longworth's who has a talent for attitudes in her writing and how people sometimes cope with frustrating situations. I didn't change a word to fit the music I created for this one
Lyrics
THE WAITING GAME (c) 2001 music, Idamarie Naelitz & lyrics, Sharon R. Longworth All day long the hours crawl The clock keeps ticking on the wall She hurries home to see her love But he's out on a call So she washes clothes and makes some tea Grabs a little bite to eat Wonders if he'll ever find Time to keep her company It's a waiting game, what a shame Not enough hours in the day Who's innocent and who's to blame For the waiting game She stays up late to see her mate Hoping he'll be home by eight Longs to be held in his arms Maybe she should make a date She does her nails and folds the clothes Puts away the cold pot roast He walks in and falls asleep Just when she needs him most It's a waiting game, what a shame Not enough hours in the day Who's innocent and who's to blame For the waiting game She called her man from work today Told him she would be delayed "Just catching up on things" she said "I really have to stay" Then she combed her hair, slipped on her coat The boss smiled and said, "Let's go The car is warming up outside Sometimes I want to take work home" It's a waiting game, what a shame Not enough hours in a day Who's innocent and who's to blame For the waiting game The waiting game The waiting game
