Story behind the song
The thought for this song came from an article in the newspaper in tribute to another man who had died but touched his life he was living but never knew it. The thought of touching someones life who I didn't even know just because I served Christ in my actions was a wakeup call for me. It made me think of what people might say about me when I die. Will they know my master because I lived for him daily? My hope is that we as Christians can live with no regrets and hear Christ say, "Well done good and faith ful servant, enter into Your rest"
Lyrics
I Want To Hear You Say by Lonnie Crampsey Matthew 25:21,Jeremiah 29:12 What will they say about me when I'm gone When all I know just slips away Will there be celebrations for things I've done? I'd love to hear what they would say Memories cause my heart to sing to you As I think about days gone by I hope that in me they say they saw you You're spirit in me made them want to try Chorus To keep reaching and searching and trying to find the light that only comes from you When we seek You, we'll find You and You will fill our hearts with love Then I will hear You say I want to hear You say well done I read in the paper just the other day About a man who passed away Who made an impact in the life of one And he never even knew his name The time we have here is so limited People come and people go And if they see how we are living They'll see the one truth that we know That if we keep...chorus Why do we always try to do things on our own As if You're not even there If we give just a little of ourselves You promise to be near (chorus) What will they say about you when your gone?
