Billy Charles And 3 Rivers

Traditional bluegrass sound straight from the bluegrass state.

The band is a traditional bluegrass band and features Billy Charles on the banjo. Billy began playing at an early age and placed first in literally hundreds of banjo competitions, including the Kentucky State Banjo Contest at the age of 14. He has played with 'the father of Bluegrass music', Bill Monroe and many others over the years. Billy was recently asked to play banjo for Travis Tritt at the Mountain Arts Center in Paintsville, KY. Billy and his two older brothers, Dallas and Phillip Charles, began their music careers as "The Charles Brothers" in the late 1960's. Although the brothers still perform together occasionally, they went their seperate ways. The Three Rivers band was formed in September of 2004 and can be found at various venues and festivals featuring the traditional bluegrass sound mainly in KY, TN, VA, and Ohio.
