Singer-Songwriter from New Hampshire
I'm a singer-songwriter from New Hampshire. My desire is to write songs about real life and tell stories. I hope above all else that God is seen and glorified by my simple expressions of music and the opening of my heart.

Story behind the song
I wrote this song during a crazy time in our country’s history. President Clinton was on trial for perjury; John Glen was making a trip back into the heavens becoming the oldest astronaut in orbit. There was tons of controversy over Marlyn Manson and other Rock musicians and the content of their lyrics. Mo Vaughn also left The Red Sox because he was insulted by a $60 million dollar offer to stay and play baseball in Boston. All these positions are so lofty in society standards and as a little kid, I often wanted to be like these people because they were famous. My prayer is that this song will be a reminder to Christians to seek after what God would have us do and not those positions and riches that will rot and fade away. Seek first the kingdom of God.
Lyrics
Famous Fools By Lonnie Crampsey When I grow up I want to be a baseball player So I can make a million dollars just for circling the bases Oh that’s who I could be When I grow up I want to be a rock n roll musician So I can sing the songs that people want about all the girls I’m kissing Oh that’s who I could be But that wouldn’t be me (Chorus) We’re always trying to walk in someone else’s shoes We think their lives are better than our own We disregard the plan that God has for us When we live the masquerade of famous fools When we live the masquerade of famous fools When I grow up I want to be an astronaut So I can fly around the planets and get closer to God Oh that’s who I could be When I grow up I want to be the President So I can have the power of the free world in my hands Oh that’s who I could be But that wouldn’t be me (chorus) Why do we always try to get our face on the cover of a magazine? I pray that when my life is through There will be so much more to me There is so much more to me
