Story behind the song
I was actually sitting on my porch in the rain when I wrote this song.
Lyrics
Sittin’ in the back yard makin’ music in the sun, when something came to me, then I realized, that the song had just begun. Singin’ play for the people who can’t touch the ground, and the bottled deaf children singin’ “what’s that sound”? See it’s the world that’s changing and it just can’t wait, and when the day’s have grown colder I’ll be gone away. And if you move it who’s 2 lose it but it’s never to late If you lose it let the music be you’re guide someday. And as I looked up high, I pointed out at the sky, it’s just that something seemed different though I don’t know why. It’s hard 2 show it but I know it’s just a feeling inside, it’s like the music stopped, it’s like the music died. See I’m just a little someone trying 2 get 2 the top, a little somethin’, umptine dozen time I just can’t stop. To look around and say aloud, “I’m the king of the crop”, the roar of thunder make you wonder why the rain wont drop at all. And that certain little someone with his feet on the ground, who can’t get something that’s for nothing he’ll keep searchin’ around. 2 find that one day maybe someday he will play what he’s found, still the bottled deaf children singin’ “what’s that sound”? Sittin’ in the backyard makin music in the sun, That something came to me now I realize, that the song he wrote was done.
