Story behind the song
A look at the lines that cross and block our paths. Too often do we find ourselves blocked by the opinions and thoughts of others rather than finding answers for ourselves. I wrote this song late one night coming home from a gig. I came to a stop light and crossed the white line a bit too far. They lyrics flowed from me. It was written as a prayer in my journal. And I pondered all of the things that were happening in my life, most importantly my struggles as a Christian with a spiritual, but non-Christian girlfriend.
Lyrics
Respect and peace writing words of God. Respect the Spirit that guides my hand. It guides the path around control. It guides the symbol I give control. Surrender. Surrender, receive. It's all I ask. It's all I ask is please believe. Please believe. Addicted love. The one good drug. Evil inherent in bodies peril. It's a lazy joyride. It's heavenly flight. On guided words and wings and words of might. And might not. Might'n I? Might not. Trafficking through these intrusions. Lackluster life heaven's intrusions. Fear the stop sign. Fear the stop sign. Cross over the line. Over the white line. Over the white line. Sleep induced call of passion and fear. Keep safe the prison that holds me near my love. Keep safe her heart--the only sign I respect but God's. The only line of passion crossed for good. Keep safe the innocent cleansed by Your blood. Cross the line. Cross over the white line for good.
