Succession is a Denver-based progressive metal band with a shady past and a pension for tom-foolery. We have an extensive set list that includes originals and covers, and we're available to play clubs, parties, and dive bars... We're trying to infuse the Denver music scene with some killer progressive metal -- is it ready for this insanity?!? I guess we'll have to wait and see... stay tuned.

Story behind the song
This song is a small part of a larger concept song called "Reciprocity." As such, the lyrics provide a small glimpse of the epic story. The song was recorded and mixed by David LaPolt at the Auraria Recording Core, University of Colorado, Denver as part of a college recording project.
Lyrics
“The Fallen Sky” I am a wreck You may admire me From a distance everything seems so easy And I may hate myself But you love me, don’t you? I am nothing Living on borrowed time Following my own footsteps Echoing in these castle halls There is nothing that belongs to me In every possible way you are the boss of me I live in scrutiny: indebted servitude I think it all ends today I am nothing Living on borrowed time Following my own footsteps Echoing in these castle halls You are a piss-ant, absentee landlord And I don’t give a fuck about you Maybe I can’t take it with me But I don’t have to leave it behind You can have every ounce of this shit Have another drink Do another line Follow Benzedrine with turpentine All these precious things Smothered in gasoline Born lovingly in purple flame Take another hit Just one more pill Beat my pretty head against the wall I light the final match Won’t hesitate Don’t try to intervene It’s far too late
