No hype. No bullshit. (Well, SOME bullshit, but no hype): Words and music by Jim Parker.
I've been called a lot of things since I first climbed onto a stage with a guitar in my hands and butterflies in my stomach, but the one word that seems to fit best (and miss the mark least) is this one: songwriter. In fact, that's the one I use to describe myself as a performer, too -- especially after I hit a sour note in a vocal or blow a guitar lick, or otherwise need to extricate my ego from my performance in front of an audience. Whenever that happens, I just shrug it off as best I can, and remind anyone who needs reminding of the truest musical fact about me that I know: "I'm not a musician. I'm a songwriter."

Lyrics
money problems all outta control. last eight years all down the hole. you leavin' is breakin' down my soul... all Ôcause of a little jelly roll. I'd try to make sense of it, but that ain't my joint. I'm movin' past the breaking point. bad news is my stock in trade. women done hustled or stole every good thing I made. "for better or worse," became a curse. just write it on the back of my f*** in' hearse. no need to make sense of it, 'cause that ain't my joint. I done and moved beyond the breakin' point. now, miss crystal is my only friend said she'll stand beside me until the end. now, if anyone listenin', I don't mean to offend, but she make more sense to me than Billy Graham. no need to make sense of it, 'cause that ain't my joint. I done and moved beyond the breakin' point. bad news is my stock in trade. women done hustled or stole every good thing I made. "for better or worse," became a curse. write it on the back of my f*** in' hearse. no need to make sense of it, 'cause that ain't my joint. I done and moved beyond the breakin' point.
