Pins and needles
Itch at my skin
There’s no escape it’s everywhere
Even within
By the gloomy church
The gravestones twinkle
Rain brings them back to life
I wonder what they’re thinking
I wonder
As they’re sinking under
The earth they used to know
A tear drop falls from the sky
Runs down my cheek
Cry for me, I don’t know how
But then again I don’t care now
The wind grazes my cheek
And the raindrops glitter softly
Simple beauty caught in a wire of a fence
Fragile gems that make no sense
Wisdom old as age
Pouring down with rage
Watching people come and go
Separating body and soul
On those long, dark, rainy nights…
