I got a Roy Rogers guitar with song book for Christmas in 1958. I learned a little and put it aside. In '63 a kid brought his electric guitar to school and played "Pipeline" at our sock hop. It looked easy, so I started a garage band. Eventually, I needed money for gas and dates, so I got a real job. We disbanded in '66, but best friend, Freddie, and I kept jamming over the years. We recently worked on a song he wrote and it inspired me to write my own music. Please listen and post a message.

Lyrics
Making A Memory 1) She’s only 40 inches tall but that’s big enough to ride I’m standing in line with kids on every side This aint the most fun that I ever had But it’s my job, being a Dad Chorus Making a memory, leaving a legacy No matter where she may roam She won’t forget what we think insignificant We’re making a memory of home 2) It’s a dance recital, my ballerina is the star That’s what I tell her riding in the car She's got stage fright and she’s looking kind of sad Chasing butterflies away is why I'm a Dad (Chorus) 3) Tea parties I attend with Barbie and her friends Cinderella’s story never ends I don’t make fun about every phase and fad Cause it’s my job, being a Dad (Chorus) 4) Then it’s plays and sports, homework and book reports She’s growing up and talks about the boys This is the toughest job that I ever had Laying down the law, being a Dad Making a memory, leaving a legacy When she thinks of days gone by She won’t forget what we think insignificant Cause we’re making a memory for life Yes we’re making a memory for life © 2006 Words and Music A.P.
