Bright Spark are two guys and a girl centred on Norwich, England, playing and singing their own brand of retro Brit Pop, softcore rock, and a wide range of othe
We are primarily a working live band and one of the busiest in the area. We enjoy every sort of gig, from private functions in swish hotels to social clubs and from sweaty rock venues to ballroom dances. Our original material reflects this and we write songs and instrumentals that are also very varied in style. All three of us play and sing and we are noted for our harmony work and our instrumental ability. We are an unusual combination - the excitement of being a new and inventive band, with the sure touch that comes only from many years of experience.

Story behind the song
John Bartram wrote this song as mainly a political rant, and it's his voice you hear at the beginning saying "My old Dad..." Pete and Heather are amused to be in a band with him, as most politically oriented musicians are either left-wing or greens (or both). John, however, is a staunch Conservative (for any youngsters or foreigners, they were Lady Thatcher's lot) and drives the Battle Bus for their candidate at election time. John writes new verses whenever he has something he needs to get off his chest, and drops those that become obsolete, so the version you'll hear at a gig won't be the same as this, which is similar to the CD version.
Lyrics
Now, my old Dad, he ain't no genius, but neither is he a fool! He says: "Son, wherever you go in life, you must remember the Golden Rule..." Think Twice before saying "I feel fine" Think Twice, for I can show you a better time Think Twice before letting your lips kiss mine Unless you like the taste of whisky and wine...
