It was a loooong drive for Lester. Refer to story/lyrics for details. In the proud tradition of James Brown and Susie Q, this is Part 1 of 2.

Welcome. There are usually about six of us in here. Individually, we are citizens. Together, we produce sound. Sound so vital that it can only be used for good or evil, depending on who is at the mic. Combined weight: 912 lbs. Favorite color: pink dark. --------------------------------------------------

Story behind the song
It was a dark and stormy night. No, really, it was raining and blowing like mad. We had this gig at a ‘private affair’ (I can say no more). Lester, who recently had moved to where there is more than corn, had his normally long drive quadrupled by trafficstance. Free advice: early Mahavishnu Orchestra is not recommended for calming traffic jam tension. So we set up and started playing, using a cheesey Casio drum machine as a temporary Lester substitute. We were just finishing a lack-lustre ‘Cigarettes in the Mud’ when Lester leaped in. Of course, this is where the fun started. A Henry-esque stream of consciousness oratory began with an interpretive recalling of the drive to the gig, and ended with strippers ‘playing’ the new theremin device in Evil 2.0’s new synthesizer- but that’s in part 2…
Lyrics
Lonesome nights in the suburbs With the pointy pointy bird Going from strip mall to strip mall It was a lonesome night at the video store Because I think I’ve seen them all And the pointy pointy bird shows me the way A lonesome night in my ca-a-ar I’m driving way too fa-a-ar A lonesome night in my ca-a-ar I’m coasting on the ta-a-ar And the pointy pointy bird shows me the way It’s a lonesome night in the restaurant I am dining with an elephant The special sauce comes free with the entrée And the waiter’s name is Andre And the pointy pointy bird shows me the way
