Story behind the song
This is one of several songs (now obviously "dated") that I was asked to write and perform over a six-year period for a local community annual observance of "World AIDS Day" (12/1) Usually in keeping with the globally recognized theme decided by the World Health Organization (WHO - not the band! LOL!) this one marked 20 Years of the pandemic. More thanks than you can begin to imagine goes to "Skintknuckle" (a.k.a.: Wade Black) for his unmistakable guitar solo, but even more so for his (literally) YEARS of patience while I learned a new editing program to replace my workhorse Roland VS-880, which finally "gave up the ghost". Thanks, Wade! I had truly NOT forgotten...just moved on to other things. :0' As Letterman once lamented: "Remember, Paul, when 'safe sex' meant you had to move the headboard out from the wall to keep from hitting your head?"
