Story behind the song
To that long lost love... I wrote the lyrics to this song in 1992, but it wasn't until 1995 when I asked my friend Eric Beauchemin to write a beautiful balled for it on his acoustic guitar. He did just that, and what we came up with was absolutley amazing! In 2003, Doodle and I rerecorded the song for my "Journey By Rail" album, and the end result is just as beautiful. All thanks to the Beauch!

Lyrics written in 1992; Music written in 1995 (1st Verse) Here I lie awake tonight, all alone I think of you, thoughts of you run through my mind of when our love was true. All I have is the memories and the pain that's here to stay. If you could only hear my mind, then you would hear me say... *(Chorus) Now I'm alone, on my own, I'm living in this Hell, so afraid to move on, I can't believe you're gone. Is it true, I lost you, is this really the end of what we had, I need to know, will we ever love again? Will we ever love again? (2nd Verse) I look into the nighttime sky, all I see is a shining star, as the light fills up my eyes, I wonder where you are. I dwell on the love we had, it hurts more everyday. I wish that you could hear my mind, so you could hear me say... * (3rd Verse) Once my heart was filled with love, and now it's filled with pain, for deep down I know, I know my soul will never be the same. It's hard for me to understand why it had to be this way. I pray to the God above that your heart would always feel me say... *
