Fred Blacksmith, Lance Brown, Brad Rodger and Dan Lopata love the blues. But our approach has something else - a vast collection of tongue-in-cheeck original tunes that spoof everything from male insecurity and sibling rivalries to seductions gone bad and the aging process. We think we are the perfect mix of art and entertainment - Musical, Insightful and Fun!

Story behind the song
When ever I'm in a stressful situation I think to myself, "I ought to write a song about this." This is the case with being jammed in traffic. This song by my band "Archtop Brownie" has gotten local airplay in Chicago and we've had features written on us in the Chicago Tribune and Pioneer Press. So We're trying to keep our little ball rolling. For that reason we may rename the band "Archtop Brownie and the Dung Beetles".
Lyrics
Jumped into my car at a quarter to eight Got an early start didn't want to be late Drove up on the ramp and rolled to a stop Found myself sittin' in a parking lot. Gridlock just as far as the eye can see IDOT you're gonna be the death of me Chokin' on the fumes from the cars and trucks Life in the slow lane really sucks! I'm about to blow a fuse 'Cause I got the Dan Ryan Blues I'm puttin' on my walkin' shoes 'Cause I got the Dan Ryan Blues Now I know that all this work just has to be done But drivin' on the Southside ain't no fun Some fool cuts me off he's shakin' his fist God it takes forever just to get to Ninety-Fifth Gridlock just as far as the eye can see IDOT you're gonna be the death of me Three hours in the car every day is so lame Just wait until the White Sox are havin' a game I'm about to blow a fuse 'Cause I got the Dan Ryan Blues I'm puttin' on my walkin' shoes 'Cause I got the Dan Ryan Blues I can feel the tension, I can feel the crush The guy on my right his mind has turned to mush The woman on my left is yackin' on the phone Five miles an hour we're crawlin' through the zone Gridlock just as far as the eye can see IDOT you're gonna be the death of me Got a semi-trailer truck honkin' me to pass But he ain't goin' nowhere 'cause I just ran out of gas. I'm about to blow a fuse 'Cause I got the Dan Ryan Blues I'm puttin' on my walkin' shoes 'Cause I got the Dan Ryan Blues
