Demons in the Night (Verse 1) Pulling struggling trying to find hope in someone Yeah a boy looking to stop the hurting but the only thing on his mind is a gun Tears drip from the cold face of this young boy As he lifts the gun to his head intending to destroy The hurt and pain from the years flash through his head Could it all come to in end by pulling a trigger leaving him dead? He’s got one person whispering in his ear pull the trigger And another one telling him to take his hand off the trigger Trying to decide which one to listen to but can’t make the decision The voices keep trying to push him to go there way but it causes division He stuck in the middle and has to choose one or the other Screaming and pulling the gun from his head he runs to his mother Looking for comfort looking for someone that cares Empty rooms all around as he runs from the down stairs Hearing the voice of his mother and running to the sound The sound seems to come from everywhere and she is nowhere to be found The young boys eyes open and he’s holding the gun He had imaged it’d all be done but still there and hasn’t won Cause these demons in the night are trying to confuse Telling him to tighten his finger around the trigger and choose The voice telling him to stop it’s a voice he’s never listened too All it’s said is how much the world lies and there is love if only he knew Cause in this boys life it seems as though everything has gone wrong Having to see his mother die and her telling him to be strong But the only thing he wants do is end it all The walls seem to close in as the boy stalls Everything in the room is silent and dead still Reminding him of his father who tried to forget with pills His finger begins to tighten as he pulls the trigger tight He hears no bomb or no bang something just isn’t right Falling to the floor to realize the gun had not fired off Trembling and in shock he had loaded the gun but it didn’t set off The thought of death makes the young boy start shaking He was saved from a big mistake he was making (Verse 2) Being told your ugly and stupid you’re not worth nothing You wouldn’t think this person would be talking about a little girl on a swing This mother who gave birth to girl at the age of sixteen Self-Esteem crushed by her mother who was always mean The hurt and pain these young ones go through shouldn’t happen to anyone Wanting to grab her possessions to make a run from the ones who shun But only finds herself grabbing a knife and pressing it to her wrist Maybe she’ll cut deep enough to where she won’t even exist Expressing her hurt and pain from the scars that remain Again, again she hurts herself causing more and more pain Listen up cause this is serious children growing up in homes of self destruction Some of them have seen no hope and have not heard the life saving instruction They look at God and curse him for putting them in the unsafe environment Oh the stress and depression these children go through to the extreme extent None of them release that Christ went through the torture And how much or heavenly father had to endure These demons fill the minds of the abused Telling them to not accept God and just refuse But I speak to you and tell you to accept Because God will wipe the tears from your eyes you’ve wept His love is unconditional and never changing Open up your ears and listen to what I’m addressing Accept the one and only God Jesus Christ the one who paid the price The one who died and made the permanent sacrifice So hold on be strong because this life is temporary And I know in times its going to be scary Just close your eyes and smile because you’re going to live eternally
