My music is a mixture of Blues, Blues/Rock, and Progressive Rock/Jazz. Also, i dabble in Acoustic Folk/Folk Rock music...
Played professionally during the 70's....went on a self-induced "hiatus"...presently reactivating my passion for music....

Story behind the song
This song was inspired by CNN reporting on a Palestinian family on a picnic at a beach when an incoming bomb killed the father...a simple family enjoying a simple day....or so they thought.
Lyrics
The children lay out the blanket On the sandy beach Mom puts down the basket Goat cheese, figs, maybe a peach. Father reads them a story From an old family book Four generations in his family You can tell by how tattered it looks. The daughter wants to go swimming The son enjoys skipping stones Mom and dad hold each other So proud of their two little ones. Like a Norman Rockwell Setting One you would see on a wall Or maybe it's a famous painting And then the bombs begin to fall. Chorus Destroyed is the Rockwell setting Created is an oceanside flood Terror in the eyes of the daughter The boys stones now painted in blood. There goes that Rockwell setting That might have hung on a wall A commander's order to his soldiers Guaranteed an end to it all. No more oceanside picnics No more blankets on the beach No more hand-woven baskets No more goat cheese, figs, maybe a peach. Just a family of people Who lived a simple life But governments, they know so much better You can't have peace without strife. Chorus
