Story behind the song
Dedicated to all fathers of the world especially to my dad. HAPPY FATHER'S DAY!!! WE THANK YOU!!! WE LOVE YOU!!! My dad was one of the top local singers in Agusan-Surigao Sur area during the time of "Susan Tuyugon" (popularly known as "Susan Fuentes", I think). They usually joined in "local" singing contests... but he won most of them, if not, his brother or in-law. No, they are not pinoy mafia:) LOL. During that time, there's no karaoke or minus one yet, so he's often invited to sing and play guitar for big parties and fiestas in the area. ...but once you don't take care of your voice, your smooth or high-pitched voice will disappear. So, Susan Tuyugon made it big time after few years. I grew up with tons of diverse music from the music of Frank Sinatra, Matt Monroe, Perry Como, Kenny Rodgers, Timmy Yuro, Nat King Cole, Paul Anka, The Platters, Lettermen, Tom Jones, Quincy Jones, Jack Jones, Neil Sedaka, Neil Diamond, Elvis Presley, Englebert Humperdinck, Jhonny Mathis, Lionel Ritchie, Beatles, Mamas & Papas, Everly Brothers, ABBA as well the music of George Canseco, Basil Valdez, Leo Valdez, Rico Puno, Anthony Castello, Rick Segretto, Victor Wood, Eddie Peregrina and Marco Sison. I heard these artists' songs from him. Those were the music from home in my younger years. When I visit them, I can still hear these music... In HS (away from home), metal/original hard rock music of The Who, Scorpions, Queen, Black Sabbath, Pink Floyd, Deep Purple, Eagles, Eric Clapton, Nazareth, Rod Stewart, Journey, Joe Cooker, Bon Jovi, Skid Row, Warrant, Poison, Extreme, Guns 'n roses, Hagibis, Hotdogs, Juan De La Cruz band and etc became my kind of music. Late HS years, the new wave/alternative music of U2, Spandau Ballet, R.E.M., Steve Miller Band, Toto, Tears For Fears, Dire Straights, Fra Lippo Lippi, Duran Duran, Police, Sting, The Cure, Simply Red, Spin Doctor, Hottie and the blue fish, Alan Parson's project, Men at work, REO Speedwagon, Outfield, Fleetwood Mac, AHA, UB-40, Dave Matthews Band and etc captured my taste. I've got hooked up with love songs/romantic music through my former girl friends and now, through my wife's music. You've got to love what they like... or else, you will hit the door:) LOL. Dan Hill, Joe Marie Chan, David Pomarenz, Christopher Cross, Barry White, Barry Manilow, Peabo Bryson, George Benson, Al Jarreau, Chicago, Stevie Wonder, Ray Charles, Luther Vandross, Cecine Dion, Mariah Carey, Whitney Houston, Donna Summer, Dianne Warwick, Diana Ross, Olivia Newton-John, Melissa Manchester, Chaka Khan, Roberta Flack, Aretha Franklin, Sergio Mendez, Commodore, Air Supply, Taylor Dayne, Anne Murray, Anita Baker, Carpenters, The Jets, Gloria Estefan, Earth Wind & Fire, Rey Valera, Boyfriends, Odette Quisada, Ryan Cayabyab, APO and instrumental music of Clayderman, John Tesh, Yanni, Beethoven, Mozart, Trans-Siberian Orchestra, Segovia, Esteban, Eddie Katindig and other "healthy to your love life" music... became/become universal music. In college, the folk songs of Jim Croce, Bob Dylan, America, Bread, Bee Gees, Little River Band, CSN&Y, Neil Young, Simon & Garfunkel, Roy Orbinson, Seals & Crofts, England Dan & John Ford Coley, James Taylor, Kansas, Elton John, Paul Williams, Loggins & Messina, Don McClean, Dan Fogelberg, Asin, Banyuhay ni Heber, Florante, Freddie Aguilar, Joey Ayala, Grace Nono and etc. A few years ago, Country music, Hawaiian (IZ), Carribean (e.g. Jimmy Buffet), reggae (e.g. Bob Marley), blues (B.B King), rock 'n roll music (Bob Seger, CCR, Chuck Berry, etc) are the thing of the band I'm in... so I kinda like them now. Plus, the other band is more on dancing... so Twisted sisters, spanish music, Santana. When my nephew and neice ride with us, they will play R&B and rap music. I absorb them all. The beat is irressitible! I love watching the G3-1 and G3-2 videos too! So, my musical background is like a spider web... intertwining to each other which give me flexibility and

Thanks, Eddie - this song was meaningful for me today, my father being 84 and not well at present. Keep up the good work. God bless. Tunerfish.
