Story behind the song
I wrote this song about 3 weeks ago, just blowing off some steam, and keeping up my engineering skills while trying some new things in my studio. Then about a week and a half later, I found out about the FX Channels comdey sitcom contest and quickly decided to base my sitcom idea on the story of this song. You can find out about the contest at www.myspace.com/sunnyfx
Lyrics
It seems the truth ain't working, at least not for me anymore. I really can't figure out what this all has been for. Just trying to get through all this, and find the words to say while looking for a way to pay last months bills today. An honest life seems that it's not what it's cracked up to be, with profits flowing from the stains of social entropy. I've scarred my eyes with all this vapid senseless imagery; like the useless youths of celebs and their stupid shows on the TV. They say if it ain't broken, then it don't need a fix. Well it's been running backwards and no-one GIVES A! Swimming against the current and running out of steam, I try to catch my breath but I am drowning in the mainstream! They say if it ain't broken, then it don't need a fix. Well it's been running backwards, and no-one gives a shit! Swimming against the current and running out of steam, I try to catch my breath but I am drowning in the mainstream!
