Drop me a line. Tell if it sucks. Tell me about the lyrics - do they make sense?

Story behind the song
Sam sent us words and a picture with a challenge: produce a song to match this style (or not) using whatever comes to mind or stirs us or whatever. Homework. And I though school was over...
Lyrics
we brought christmas back to Arlignton we lit a candle and i watched the light bounce of mom's hair she brought daddy back in a photograph of all the family trimming the tree and i was pulling his ears i remember a time before..... i planted an evergreen above him while mom just cried daddy daddy will you help it grow and give it light you once had i remember a time before christmas with painted rabbits playing on the walls (la la la da da la la) the rain pours down on our umbrellas, plastic galouches and thick woolen socks, wont push the chill from my bones and mist that collects in the air is like static pushing radio signals along weighing down the air so that eventually everything falls in waves and my memories are collages of pillow fights and candy bars words drifting down through the hall and love love is the amber that keeps my memories vivid and sorrow sorrow is the trumpet that raises love up from bed in the morning
