Really, she was a cross between Doris Day and Marilyn Monroe, and sort of like a cartoon character. I broke her heart then, she broke the next guy's heart. And, you know, the cycle continues...

I have 3 fully produced CDs. Mostly acoustic. My 3rd album, "elements," is comprised of 12 songs spanning the full spectrum of relationships. From the first tug of the heart string to the first salvo of war to saying goodbye in a style best suited for today’s reality TV. I wrote a a wedding song, "Now It’s We," which is built upon a lyrical foundation of trust, respect and friendship is the centerpiece of "elements." Each song on “elements” represents its own story, yet the complete collection of songs creates an interwoven narrative of family, friends, emotion, and personal perspectives of societal struggles.

Story behind the song
My first CD was produced by John Alagia. I was lucky to work with John early as he has produced the breakout CDs from Dave Matthews Band, John Mayer, Jason Mraz, and Ben Folds Five. The normal process to record a song, sort'a goes like this: You either record the song as a band, or you do each instrument separately then layer the recordings together. My producers typically put down base tracks, made up of drums and bass, then layered other tracks above them. Once recorded, base tracks are almost impossible to change. But that just what I wanted to do - change the intro drum track. John Alagia told me it was pratically impossible but he re-played the drums, we re-recorded and the song came off – perfectly. For me, the intro makes the song. I love Doug Derryberry's lead guitar.
Lyrics
Glimpse of a shadow Just caught my eye I swear I saw you Just passin' by Book on a shelf, shattered dream This is the worst thing I have ever seen How does Doris Day and Marilyn Monroe Combine in one person I'll never know I got skeletons in my closet Ghosts in my attic I've got a haunted heart Haunted heart, Haunted heart I've got a haunted heart I swear I saw through you today I don't know how I'm afraid of what I might say But that's the way it is now I think of you more as time goes by I probably will till the day I die I'm gonna find me a fallen angel To chase my dreams away I'm gonna find me a fallen angel Oh, I need her today
