When she's staring you right in the face, and you never saw her coming
Im an aspiring acoustic guitar player who works with a variety of people, collaborating on different projects. Recently have been writing a lot of material. Im not much of a lyricist and more of a musician, meaning I write a lot of acoustic guitar music without words. Im hoping to eventually form a more perminant setup.
Story behind the song
This song is about a girl who got away. A girl I didnt see coming, and was crushed when she was gone. However, this girl is one I'll never forget and always adore.
Lyrics
I was sitting here, just my books and my things
Waiting for something to happen to me
Through and over my glasses, you stood right there
So unlike what I ever thought would appear
There you were
Standing right there in front of me, and
There you were
Biggest brown eyes staring down at me, and
There you were,
Cutest little girlie that I ever did see, and
There you were
Just doing my job, never a second thought
You're just a girl that I once saw
Such a pretty little thingy, now your lips on me
Over a cup of coffee, we're having such a
Damn good time,
Sitting and laughing together baby, just a
Damn good time,
We are two birds of a feather baby, just a
Damn good time,
I wish it would go on forever baby, just
Damn good time...
A few weeks later you upped and moved away
Our summer fling was something, Id say
If I could go back, Id still do it the same
But I would have gone with you, thats what Id change
Thats what Id change
Then you were gone
And Im still here doing it on my own, and
Then you were gone
Sometimes Ill hear from you on the phone, and
Then you were gone
There are things about a summer fling that I should have known, and
Now you're gone...
(Move up 1 step)
Now Im still sitting here, with my books and my things
Knowing that something great had happened to me
I take off my glasses and I rub my eyes
You were my summers very best surprise
There you were
You were standing there in front of me, and
There you were,
Your beautiful brown eyes were staring down at me, and
There you were,
You're still the cutest girly that I ever did see, and
There you were
