It's easier to leave the past behind when you have company for the ride.
I'm an amateur lyric writer who has been posting my lyrics on various songwriter boards for the past few years. Every now and then someone offers to put music to one of my lyrics. Since I don't sing or play any instruments these collaborations are the only way my work can be heard. This is a collection of some of these songs. You'll see they are in a couple of different genres.

Lyrics
Rearview Mirror There's a long black stretch of highway Growing longer with each mile There's a lifetime of hard memories I've been leaving for awhile When I think of those I'd best forget The reasons all get clearer I watch them fade, with each passing day In my rearview mirror I spent too many years reliving What I should have left behind I spent too many years there dyin' For someone else's crimes If the questions aren't black and white And the answers aren't nearer I'll watch them fade, to shades of gray In my rearview mirror There was something in that dying town That held me in its grip, A force that seemed to pull me down With each lie on someone's lips But now I've got a new direction And a girl who really cares She's gonna chase away these demons We'll escape from all my fears When those old walls start closing in My salvation couldn't be clearer She's sleeping 'cross my car's backseat In my rear view mirror Yeah, when those walls start closing in I'll be sure I'm standing near her Together we can keep the past In my rearview mirror
