I'm primarily a solo singer/songwriter who plays a bunch of instruments to fill in the spaces! All the tracks on here (unless mentioned) are multitracked one at a time with me playing all instruments - yeah real ones, no synthesizers, except for synthesizer sounds. In truth I would rather play with other muso's because 1) they would be better at it and 2) it would add other dimensions, but it takes so much more time...

Story behind the song
IDea came to me many years ago but only finished recorded in 2004. Tricky in some places because as with all my songs, I play all the instruments and double track them - stop and start songs are especially difficult, so here and there unfortunate timing glitches may be heard!
Lyrics
Verse1 Write a letter to the engine Tell it not to go so fast We’re burning everything we have And it’s never gonna last Verse2 Take a memo to the leader Tell him to look to the past He wants to build a better future But he knows not what he asks Chorus Zigger trigger, you busy boy You work so hard to buy your brand new toy You’re so caught up in all your short term joy Don’t even recognise what you destroy Verse3 Hand a note out to the children Tell them not to grow so fast Youth is like a dew swept morning And in a moment it is past Bridge Come on someone you gotta agree Haven’t we learned yet from history? How many empires had a rise and fall? And how many bettered mankind at all? How long will we stand by and do as we asked? While our future’s sold off to pay for the past? Chorus Tag Write a letter to the engine Tell it not to go so fast We’re burning everything we have And it’s never gonna last…
