Hi! I'm Chris Breen, a Lyricist/Songwriter from the UK, co-writing across most popular music genres (pop, pop-rock, dance, indie, rock, ballads, acoustic, jazz, new country and show styles). I tend to concentrate more on the lyric writing nowadays, working with a growing number of up-and-coming songwriters & artists. Recently, I've started writing and co-writing top-lines (melody and lyrics) to producers' backing tracks, sometimes co-writing these with Paul Jeffery (see Paul's SoundClick page as well). I'm always open to work on more projects, so please check out the sample MP3s of some of my more recent work and feel free to get in touch. Have a look at the Lyrico Website too! ()

Story behind the song
It's just me doing my best attempt at a Bernie Taupin style ballad! I think Al's done a fantastic job with the music.
Lyrics
VERSE 1 So sorry the evening’s come to this end I know you want more from me than my heart can comprehend I think I tried from the very start to say that it's just fun You think I lied, but you know inside; well, I'm really not the one BRIDGE 1 Now I can see that me saying these words is hurting you so But it's best that I'm honest, 'cause in time you'd find I'd go CHORUS 1 I'm not that steady, I'm not ready to settle down with you, girl There's so much love out there in this big, wide world For you don't need me, believe me; to stay would be a mistake I'd only leave you later, for I've still got hearts to break Still got hearts to break VERSE 2 So sorry the heart breaking now had to be yours But time will open up for you so many other doors BRIDGE 2 You'll be happy and settled down, I'll still be playing the field In the wake of my plough, hoping the turning hearts have healed CHORUS I'm not that steady, I'm not ready to settle down with you, girl There's so much love out there in this big, wide world For you don't need me, believe me; to stay would be a mistake I'd only leave you later, for I've still got hearts to break Still got hearts to break MIDDLE EIGHT I really do care for you, and I hate to see you like this But life is so short and there’s so much, Honey, that we would miss You don’t believe me now, but you’ll thank me one day And the best thing for both of us; is me moving on my way… CHORUS I'm not that steady, I'm not ready to settle down with you, girl There's so much love out there in this big, wide world For you don't need me, believe me; to stay would be a mistake I'd only leave you later, for I've still got hearts to break Still got hearts to break Lyrics Copyright Chris Breen 2005 IF YOU ARE AN ARTIST, BAND, MANAGEMENT COMPANY, RECORD COMPANY OR PUBLISHER AND WOULD LIKE TO RECORD (AS A MASTER OR DEMO), RELEASE, LICENSE OR PUBLISH THIS SONG, WE WOULD LIKE TO HEAR FROM YOU.
