Larry Wiseman has been in the trumpet world for a long time. He began playing at age 9, although he says that his first encounter was with his grandfather's old cornet at age 5. Now an accomplished player of more than 46 years, Larry has long since left the life of a professional musician, after a 20 year career. Classically trained at Georgia State University,at the age of 18, he auditioned for The Atlanta Symphony, and made the 6 finalists;even though he did not make the cut,he still played as an extra with the symphony several times, served as principal trumpet for the Emory Wind Ensemble, and played in back-up bands for many name acts; to name a few are Frankie Avalon,The Four Aces, Cab Calloway, The Righteous Brothers, The Jimmy Dorsey Band, The Glenn Miller Band, Helen O'Connell, Vaughn Monroe, Liberace, Brenda Lee, Peter Nero, The Supremes, and Ben Vereen, as well as being a studio musician for a number of years, playing on many radio & TV commercials. Presently, he is the bugler/trumpeter for his singer/songwriter wife Susan D. Wiseman, also known as The Tribute Lady. "Susan's music is so unique, and I am blessed to participate in her ministry to grieving and hurting people, and the honoring of those men and women who have lived and died to keep us safe and free, namely, the members of the military, police and fire departments," says Larry.
Larry's favorite style is jazz, but he can play proficiently in all genres.
