Story behind the song
This choral piece, by Wolfgang Amadaeus Mozart (1756-1791), is played on a melodeon dating from the 1860s. If you listen closely you can hear the pumping of the musian, who is required to operate a foot pedal to keep air flowing to the reeds at a constant rate. (Melodeon - P. Cazaly)
