I like both light and dark rock. This is one of my lighter recordings. It is meant for an album length recording I would like to do. Not for profit, but for the love of doing it.

Rock, Pop, & Sometimes Whatever Else
- Have a revised list of recordings with more recent songs included at www.soundclick.com/mattbanx - Some recordings that I did. I am influenced by everything. But rock is my biggest influence, mellow or hard. I like thick bass and prefer the melodic, but hopefully it is never wimpy. I'm just looking to improve my playing, mixing, and songwriting. Not to market anything. I play everything by hand. No fancy production. Just guitar, bass, drum, keyboard, and voice. I occasionally use my reverb unit, like with the guitar solo on "Done With Mirrors". I have been experimenting more with the basic sound. These are mostly plugging the instument into my sound card, otherwise. I record between 2 computers. I hope you like what you hear and remember this page. Otherwise, thanks for the listen.

Story behind the song
Listened to bands in my state out of Minniapolis such as The Suburbs and Soul Asylum. Pre-Alternative acts with the indie spirit. I also like rock from all over the world. Such as prog rock from Britain to America. Even some non-rock and native music. This track is the beginning to what will hopefully result in a full length album.
Lyrics
As time goes by A gentle breeze Everything dies All to debris As dog eats dog Boiling in the stew Til' ther's one big fog Just one thing left to do Sliding away For the place to be Sliding away To the deep blue sea All twists and turns Tied up in knots My body burns As I take the shots Looking for that place Where there's no money To fill the empty space And grab your honey Sliding away For the place to be Sliding away To the deep blue sea
