I used to hold onto yesterday, but you freed me from those chains.

An acoustic guitar playing Chinaman with influences from guitar heroes to the dirty, little pleasure we call Pop.
Alexander Shen was born on July 18th, 1983 in Berkeley, CA. He's spent his entire life in the East Bay. He pulls musical influences from whatever he hears around him. He'll stop talking in the third person. I am currently a solo guitar artist. It's probably best described as acoustic pop. Not quite adult contemporary music (Josh Kelley, John Mayer, etc.) but nothing bubblegum pop (Britney Spears, Jessica Simpson, etc.). Actually, I'm not quite sure who/what I sound like. Just give me a few minutes and I'll try my best to captivate you.

Lyrics
I can't explain what this means It's hard enough to believe That someone out there Could find me out here Waiting so desperately Holding onto yesterday But you freed me from these chains And I finally see A promise for me Holding onto yesterday But you freed me from these chains And I finally see A promise for me In you I spent nights thinking to myself Seeking solace in nobody else And I gave it time But I never knew why I couldn't outstay the welcome in my mind Hanging onto yesterday But you freed me from these chains And I finally see A promise in me Hanging onto yesterday But you freed me from these chains And I finally see A promise in me In you Am I going too fast I fear that this won't last But you tell me Baby, don't you worry I'll never let you go Holding onto yesterday But you freed me from these chains And I finally see A promise in me Hanging onto yesterday But you freed me from these chains And I finally see A promise for me In you
