KDB3 is a solo studio entity. Doug Bowers is a multi-instrumentalist, singer-songwriter who writes, records and produces music during domestic downtime. He has gigged professionally since 1973 in a variety of both secular and Christian rock bands. He is a member of the praise band at Immanuel Anglican Church in Destin Florida.

Story behind the song
I lost a best friend to cancer over 20 years ago. I always wanted to write a song about the experience but never quite got the inspiration - nothing would come out. About 5 years after Billy's death, I got up one night to respond to nature's call . I hadn't been thinking about writing a song for him in a while. A voice in the darkness said "the sun always goes down with the promise of a new day". I knew in an instant what the stement was for and I knew it was the voice of God. I quickly wrote the phrase down. The next day, I wrote the song.
