Folk-Rock Classic Protest Music
I'm a solo recording artist, long-time songwriter, musician, and audio engineer, trying to use the power of music to raise awareness and inspire others to make a positive difference, with their life and through their Art. Over the past ten years or so, I have completed and self-released five solo albums, and am working on another one. My style is mostly Classic Protest Folk-Rock. I tend to address what I consider to be the larger themes of our existence, rather than writing from a first-person or fictional perspective, or writing about partying, fast cars, girls, etc. (of course, there is a place for those things, but there are plenty of songs like that already, yes?) Although I have worked with many "big names" and Grammy winners as a live-sound engineer, I write, play, and record all my original music by myself, for better or worse. Thanks for listening. (Audio engineer with over thirty years experience, has mixed FOH (Front of House) for such artists as: Jesse Colin Young, Randy Newman, Shawn Colvin, Commander Cody, B.B. King, Richie Havens, Arlo Guthrie, Leo Kotke, Chuck Mangione, Hal Ketchum, John Sebastian, Jim Messina, Charlie Musselwhite, Del McCoury, Michele Schocked, Michael Martin Murphy, Stanley Jordan, Kevin Cole, Tommy Emmanuel, Peter Cincotti, Leon Redbone, Nitty Gritty Dirt Band, Shemekia Copeland, Jackie Greene, Lisa Loeb, Karla Bonhoff, Crash Test Dummies, Poco, Dan Fogelberg, Edwin McCain, George Winston, CJ Chenier, Maia Sharp, David Grisman, Michael W. Lyrics
HEROES AND ANGELS c 1994 Ed Billeaud Heroes and Angels, I know they exist The kindness of strangers has proved to me this Some just call it doing their job, some call it lending a hand Their unselfish actions to help their fellow man And they don't ask where we come from They don't care what we've got They don't judge or condemn us, and likely as not They'll risk theirs' to save ours', tally not what they've spent Those heroes and angels, Earth-bound, Heaven-sent Heroes and Angels, I know this much is true We never run out of things we ask them to do Folks get into trouble at the drop of a dime Seems there's more folks and more trouble all of the time We've all seen people who've lost all they had Heard too many stories turned out too sad The plight of the many, Lord, it touches the few Those heroes and angels rise up and renew Heroes and Angels, they're not hard to find We each can become one if we make up our minds We've been given the power to love and to care We all become stronger the more love we share Yeah, this human condition so fraught with despair But Heroes and Angels somehow are still here
