Story behind the song
I had not written a song for awhile, then one day I decided I would. I sat playing my guitar for hours trying to decide what I should write about. I became so frustrated about not been able to come up with anything. Then suddenly my little girl (Julie) came running in the house crying because she had fell off her paddle bike. I told her not to bother me I was writing a song. She was only six at that time. She looked up at me with her beautiful blue eyes with tears flowing. It crushed my heart to speak to her that way. I picked her up instantly and realized that I better spend time with her, cause one day she will be grown up and married and she would no longer be Daddy's little girl. Thus she inspired me to write this song. I hope you enjoy it.
Lyrics
Words and Music by Jay Fox Jenny was a young girl, her hair was bright as the sun. The life of Jenny had just begun, and now she's a lady. Oh Jenny, you've taken my heart, Your smile can turn the rain to sunshine, Oh Jenny don't leave home. Jenny, oh Jenny, my queen of the world. Jenny was my baby, a child of heaven's world Jesus gave this little girl, and now she's leaving home. Oh Jenny, you've taken my heart. You smile can turn the rain to sunshine Oh Jenny don't leave home. Tommorrow is her wedding day, the tears have all begun. Tommorrow you'll find an empty room, and Jenny will be gone. Jenny, oh Jenny, my queen of the world, Jenny, oh Jenny, my queen of the world.
