Dreamtown is a short journey into, well, the world of dreams. The imagery is probably familiar to many.

I was born at an early age. Not long after, music began emanating from somewhere in my head . . . it could have been a small radio down the hall, I don't know. It certainly wasn't the full-bodied, high-fidelity audio to which I have grown accustomed as an adult. I digress. Brian Wilson is my hero and an intrinsic influence. But there are many others. In the merry village of artists to whom I owe a great debt reside, among others, John Lennon, George Harrison, Peter Gabriel, Jimmy Webb, Jimmy Page and Todd Rundgren. I write music from a deep-seated desire to tip the balance between the ultimate forces of good and evil within the cosmos . . . i.e.: I have no vendettas, no real axe to grind. I am generally not pissed off at the world. Just some of the residents. And I hope that, despite the lilting and ethereal nature of some of my songs, it is clear that my mission is to help make it all better. Change is good . . . and inevitable. Everything changes. Everybody changes. My songs attempt to illustrate that point. Life is a banquet. I would like to, at the very least, offer everyone a few tasty appetizers. Bon appetit!

Story behind the song
There is no real story here. Dreamtown just came along one day and I tried to be faithful to the inspiration.
Lyrics
Sincerely, with you in mind I nearly lost the time All the places seem the same Old familiar faces change No one here to take the blame Or remind me where I am You'll find me here again Somewhere in Dreamtown All clocks have slowed down There's no one I know around In Dreamtown, In Dreamtown Moving (without stepping) down the stair Proving I wasn't really there Windows change to skies of black Light comes flooding through a crack Lets me know that I am back Somewhere in Dreamtown All clocks have slowed down There's no one I know around In Dreamtown, In Dreamtown The world is turning before my eyes Life is pulling me 'round, weighing me down with lies You merely cost me time I clearly lost my mind Somewhere in Dreamtown All clocks have slowed down There's no one I know around In Dreamtown, In Dreamtown Chris English ©2004 english tunes ASCAP
