Story behind the song
After all those covers, I finally decided to get up ass up and make my own composition. This has been my best sounding compo since "Black Rays", and since I've improved a lot, I have put more feelings to the song and I can tell my story better. It was April 22, 2006 (saturday) I just got home from my friend's gig and I couldn't sleep. I had the perfect inspiration on my mind at that time, and I just sat down and wrote the rhythm guitar. I just had this clouded image in my mind on how the song should be, and after I strummed the first chord with my eyes closed, I knew this was gona be a good one. The song starts off in the key of D#-minor.. A rather odd key for me since I'm not used to the position. It then goes to G#-minor, another odd key. It seems to me, the greatest sounding keys are the ones that aren't used a lot. They bridge part before the distorted solo spot is in the key of E-major. The song is about how you feel when you have multiple thoughts about a certain something or someone. Polygon = Many Sides. It's like the feeling you get when you like someone, even though you're not supposed to.. Or you like someone, but you don't want to admit it.. the same feeling you get when you like a certain guitar, and everyone else thinks you shouldn't buy it, but your gut feeling says you should. (Yeah whatever, I hope you got that..) The first part of the song deals with your feelings when you can't control your emotions and you just let your heart decide for you at the moment. The bridge is the part where you get your "slap in the face" then you realize that it's not YOU who's talking. In the distorted part, this is where you sort your feelings to what's right and what's wrong. But soon give up, because there are just some feelings that you can't deny. So you just sigh and tell your heart that it should decide for you, and all it can say is "..blah." I'm weird. I know right =P Well, there's another reason why I named it Polygon. It's in the name itself, just figure it out. I won't tell.. haha.
