Lyrics
standing at the top of st. peters church we’re staring down at the daugava river everything looks so small from way up here when we’re way up here the wind blows your hair into my face but I’m not complaining because it feels so good to get in out of the rain if you know what I mean, I know you know what I mean we took this trip for love the time we spent together here eating ice cream in the old town square we swore we’d come back soon (I hope we go back soon) we never traveled far but it seemed that we paddled for so long down a river whose embankments were full of lovers who’d come out for the summer and we were one of them we took this trip for love we wrote the name of the city we came from in the sand and crossed it out we took a 26 hour bus ride to Berlin i can’t explain it, the feelings that I’m feeling are so overwhelming I never thought we’d have such a good time now it’s time to leave this city that we’ve adopted to be our own and that’s fine, we’ll get back to the real life (what is the real life?) we're lucky, because we already know what it’s like because this is the real life we’re taking a trip called love
