This is a musical short story about a boy named Edgar. There's no bass, but I'll get around to recording that part later.
An independent artist who writes music for the fun of it.
I've always been interested in music, so I decided to make my own. This "band" is really just me playing all the instruments.
My AIM is AldiSean if you want to contact me.
Story behind the song
I like music with good lyrics, so I tried to write a song with some really good, intense lyrics. Here's what came out.
Lyrics
Edgar was a boy
who never knew of love
or friendship,
what a shame
that such a lovely mind
was wasted on dreams of
better things
Instead of pondering
philosophy or thinking what
a child should think
He only wished for sympathy
a companion on adventures
through the darkest cave
to climb atop the highest peak
to merely sit beside him
and listen while he talked
instead of feigning that he possessed
a gift of invisibility
Then appeared before him,
a sight profound
a mighty hand burst through the ground
followed by a being made of darkness,
eyes shining a crimson red
"Edgar," said the beast in a friendly tone
"I have come from the depths of your shattered mind.
To wreak havoc on the world that has forgotten you,
take my hand and all will be right."
Terror coursed through the little boy
as he stared into the eyes of this beast of shadows
but in the back of his lonely little mind
grew a seed of malice and malignancy
Things to be done, rights to be wronged
innocence broken by neglect and impertinence
As Edgar reached out his hand, his mind was set
his loneliness was the last thing the world would regret
Lend me your power,
said Edgar as he clutched his hand
suddenly the beast and the boy were one
"They'll remember me when I'm all done,
across the world and then some."
"Feed me your hate," growled the beast in triumph
He knew his plan would work
Hatred was his fuel and anger was his power,
with poor Edgar his deeds were done
Oh no, what have I done
cried Edgar to no one at all
No one deserves a fate like this
as he look upon the smoldering pits
The beast only laughed and said "nice going kid",
I've been trying to that for centuries
As he slid back into the ground
leaving Edgar all alone in this abyss
"How could this happen,
I'm worse of than before,"
Edgar screamed into the
desolate remains of planet Earth
He shook his nearest victim
and begged him to wake up
but a terror-stricken face is all
he got in return
Suddenly from the heavens came a light
that made poor Edgar blind
he would have lost his mind
if it wasn't already gone
A voice so gentle whispered near
"It's time to wake up, dear, you've been asleep for so long"
it is time to come home
Fade away to the hospital bed
where Edgar once was living, he now lay dead
While journeying alone in the woods he bumped his head
would it all have happened, if he only had a friend
