I had the idea in my head for this song for a long time, but I finally wrote it out at one point and it's become one of our favorites to play. We played around with effects on this song for the trumpet solo, as it moves from side to side if you have left and right speakers and has delay on the little riffs. This is one of my personal favorite heads because of the echos and harmonies. I think it's only fair to say that the bass line is ripped off from the song "Footprints" by Wayne Shorter, part of the melody is from "Summertime" by Gershwin, and the ending chords in the horns are very similar to those in Horace Silver's "Song For My Father".
