HI. We're Brian Mauer and Ben Verson. We've been writing, recording and performing music for over 35 years together. What do we call it? HMMMMMMMMMM, we're not sure. We incorporate any and all styles. We hope you will find that we have succeeded in homogenizing a unique style. Influences range from classic rock (Beatles, Who, Zeppelin) to Folk, slip in a bit of bluegrass, and an equal amount of metal, and you get...Something, without a name.

Story behind the song
This is the overture to the Rock Musical "A Death In the Family". It is meant to convey the building sweep of the story, which, while dark and comedic, has overarching metaphysical ovetones about life, death, and what happens afterward.
Lyrics
Welcome to my world and to my favors There’s an interesting story yet to hear It’s not about your Gods or your Saviors It's something we all fear, It's something we all fear. You know me as the simple undertaker I prep the dear departed for their rest. Consulting, as an agent of the maker I serve at their behest I serve at their behest. I see things that few men have And fewer still have known Harp-plucked strings that never salve The fires down below The elemental mysteries Are ready to be shown. I serve as spirit counsel for your loved ones A wisp between the living and the dead I share a final secret with your loved ones Removing all their dread Removing all their dread What happens after death you can't imagine The nexus of the newly parted souls Everyone's related to this tangent Welcome to the fold Welcome to the fold. I see things that few men have And fewer still have known Harp-plucked strings that never salve The fire down below I know more than all the dead And guide their metaphors All they ever heard or read Mere keyholes to these doors. Redemption is a complex undertaking We’re never really sure until we go You’re as polished as the life that you’ve been making The luster of the glow The luster of the glow. So join me in the story that will move you To joy and sorrow mixed within your tears Something to remind as you move through The balance of your years The balance of your years The balance of your years
