Story behind the song
A girl I once knew wrote me notes that ended with the words "Always Alicia." I wrote a song about it.
Lyrics
one night i saw the sky
thick and black around me
it was the fourth of july
but no fireworks were seen
the lonely stars hung miserably
peering down at you and me
you looked at me with two fallen stars
and at that moment, who knew?
always, always alicia
always, always my star
you'll never know
just how far
i would go for you
if only i could
if only i could
you know i would
one night i saw the pies
a pale blue stared back at me
crimson lit up your eyes
your cheeks turned into streams
the lonely tears dropped miserably
"i'll always be here to catch them all"
even though i'm not sure if i would
always, always alicia
always, always my star
you'll never know
just how far
i would go for you
if only i could
if only i could
you know i would
