I'm easily inspired either by personal experiences, things said in conversation, being given a challenge, or being moved or amused by something. Many genres.

Story behind the song
Co-write with Will Carroll of the US, who I think interpreted these deeper lyrics perfectly. I feel honoured as Will was good friends with, and in the same band as Michael Bolton for quite a while. (another co-write on the same lyrics was kindly done by Sahib Radio previously)
Lyrics
You rocked me, with your answer to my question, Do you take me as I am, when I promise no deception? You helped me to feel I’m in control, That’s all I need right now, the story, the story is old. You took time to understand, I’m not the man you had in mind, had in mind. No conclusion until everything was clear, Why I am, the way I am, and now you know me, now you know me. CHORUS Touching vibes give my spine stimulation... Driving beats bring wild hallucinations, Water in the eyes, is it rain or is it pain? Memories good or bad, well they blind me, They blind me, all the same. But I’m happy doing time, Accept the views they have in mind, have in mind, The walk of life’s made me open at the core, I’m playin music now, playin more. They blind me, all the same, they blind me, all the same. What's inside my being craves a way out, Not so easy.....of that there is no doubt, You see the signs that lie between the lines, Indicating things that lay heavy on my mind. But oh!…looks like I'll make it, I'm years gone from taking it, faking it (never one for faking it) You and music flow deep in my being, Strong as stone, seeing is believing. A galaxy of feelings running freely though my soul, For their freedom I surely paid, I surely, I surely paid the toll, A gallon of emotions of the mixed up kind, They blind me, they blind me, they blind me all the same. Touching vibes give my spine stimulation... Driving beats bring wild hallucinations, Water in the eyes, is it rain or pain? Memories good or bad, memories good or bad, Memories good or bad, Oh, they blind me all the same, they blind me all the same. Words © Carol Douglas Music © Will Carroll
