Me myself and I
Serron King, otherwise known as SK, has been described as a breath of fresh air to the music industry. Hailing from St. Louis as one of the first successful female singer songwriters of the area, SK’s soulful sounds are a musical interpretation of urban memoirs from a female perspective. In 2003, SK’s “Playaz and Shortys” was featured as the lead song on the soundtrack to NBA Streets 2003, Vol. 2 alongside Eminem, Jay-Z and Missy Elliot. SK has been featured in XXL and Honey magazines and rated the “..1 Female Rap Artist” by Da Streets Magazine. SK’s debut album It’s About Time features producers, Mr. Fingaz (Ja Rule’s, “Holla Holla” Fabolous’, “It’s My Party”), Good and Evil, Jayd and Carl Mo (Big Boi’s, “I Like the Way You Move”). Her album is mixed by Grammy Award winner “Bassy” Bob Brockman (Notorious B.I.G., Tupac, The Fugees). It is scheduled for release this year on DAN4ENTERTAINMENT. Drawing from many different musical styles including R&B, soul, hip-hop and traditional rock n’ roll, SK’s work possesses a depth unique to her industry. SK’s gritty rhymes, confidant lyrics and heartfelt melodies set her apart as a female Rapper/Singer representing the cultural ecology of the streets. It is her artistry, individuality and independence, which SK stakes as her claim to fame. She is a product of what happens when a talented young woman from the streets believes in herself and is unafraid to tell the truth the first time and every time.
