LAOSP... Less Ashamed of Self Portable... Voltaire wrote that whole commercial exactly as it is entirely by improvisation. Then we just wrote it down and I played one of the parts. And here I thought that one would be hard to write!
Final Fantasy Hero Training Academy... yeah we had to do that thing again, if for no other reason than Voltaire loves doing that voice. Touching Advent Children... that's just wrong. I couldn't possibly point out the more obscure parts of the list in this one because I'm pretty sure I don't even get all of them. It all depends on how much you've played Final Fantasy. The end of the list is where we put random other Square games. It was pretty hard not to laugh when Voltaire sang Eyes on Me in that voice... especially in some of the parts you're not hearing in this. Listen closely to the hecklers in the background too.
The movie quote was from Airheads. Rock on.
Oh great, here's my horrible impression of The Wingless and Voltaire's horrible impression of pixietricks. We apologize to the both of them... I think. We've had this "Greatest Hit" joke in our heads for a long time so I'm glad we finally got a chance to do it. The first testimonial trying to kill himself was my idea... there's something wrong with me. That voice is emo reelmojo from our "PRC the Movie" submission. The next testimonial saying "Thanks mom!" was my idea too... seriously what the hell is wrong with me? If you're offended by the "I'm black as hell" line then you don't know who The Wingless is, do you? Well, it's something he said like 5 times on his podcast one time... and if you're still offended then lighten up.
The contest winner where we call Trenthian... he had absolutely NO idea we were going to call him. The part where he yells "Woohoo! I don't know!" is probably my favorite part of the entire thing. Him going off on Square "Penix" was entirely his own ordeal... once again we didn't write this call ahead of time.
Stacey RcDaniel (I love that name) is played by a friend of ours. We couldn't believe she read the lines so well her first try. She was all nervous and acting like she wasn't sure she'd be good, and then she nailed it in one take. We recorded it twice but it wasn't even neccessary.
Then LAOS calls and we break character. In all seriousness doing this part with LAOS was a lot of fun. He played along with the whole "we worship LAOS" thing perfectly... even when we weren't doing our lines. All three of the people we worked with this time were awesome actually. Thanks guys (and girl)!
