This is a song about where I live. These are pretty much real people (with a little poetic license) who live in my area
acoustic folk love funny
Artist picture
Acoustic songs about love, life, and funny stuff like almost dying. Gotta laugh, don't do no good to cry...
I'm just a guy who has spent the last too many years trying to make a living. My music has been a hobby. I write songs about things that happen to me, or have happened to me, and try to keep things simple.

Story behind the song
Seeing chickens running up and down the steps of an old trailer, and picking through a pile of beer cans in the snow on Christmas eve was both sad and hysterical!
Lyrics
Johnson Hollow Copyright ®2006 Edward Null We live in the country in a place called Johnson Hollow In what used to be a little two-room cabin in the trees. I guess it grew up year by year without much rhyme or reason And it fits in pretty well among the local celebrities. Chorus There’s water flowing clean at the bottom of the bluff, It laughs and gurgles down among the stones and flows away. It’s a place where you could make a home if you don’t expect too much. Down in Johnson Hollow is where we stay. The house next door still has the wheels but the car is up on blocks, Chickens pickin through beer cans in the front yard in the snow. The old man who lives up the road is a tree trunk sculpture artist, With a chainsaw and a twelve pack he thinks he’s Michelangelo. Chorus The local pharmaceutical concern blew up today. The owner wasn’t burned too bad so he was hauled off to jail. The guitar player up the hill is kinda short on talent, But he makes it up with volume as his speakers thump and wail. Chorus There’s water flowing clean at the bottom of the bluff, It laughs and gurgles down among the stones and flows away. It’s a place where you can make a home if you don’t expect too much. Down in Johnson Hollow is where we stay. There’s water flowing clean at the bottom of the bluff, It laughs and gurgles down among the stones and flows away. You could probably drink it if you boiled it long enough, Down in Johnson Hollow’s where we stay. Ain’t much but its home, Johnson Hollow is where we stay.
