We started at a bar in Halifax: watching the dance floor drinking White Russians with Techno banging off the walls in second year university. I said that we should start a bad rock band, so bad it would be funny; I could sing and play the harp, my roomate Nick could play rhythm our friend Tim could play the bongos and Ed could solo. People took it more seriously than we intended and we kinda got caught up in it. Our old drummer had to leave and become a business man (or something) but we were blessed with a new and very professional guy named Andrew. We started to find a sound, write our own music kinda folk-funk. Wierd, I know. Listen, no one needs to tell me it's not an honest mixture.

Story behind the song
It's a song about those people who choose to study and work hard their whole life to the exclusion of all else. In the song these people head to a Carribean Resort in a desperate effort to create a social and romantic existence.
Lyrics
Checkerboard Jingles, Bob the Brain walks in. He's exciting all the singles, making them wild as sin. Smoke will rise, through a hole in the wall. Yeah, I'm fighting with the flies, Never knew you were so tall. Lets Slip along-side, Will you hold my hand? I'll take to the other side of this Garden. River's hard, Shallows are deep and wide. Sun's over the yard, drinks are by the slide. Your streets are thin, well ours are long. Come wipe your chin, Her scent is strong.....
