Story behind the song
This song is about the transfer of power from Pharoah to Pharoah in ancient Egypt...and maybe it's a vision of the coming future... This was a fun song to write and work on. It came out of a dream that I had in early 2005 about how the pyramids were built...probably from watching a television show on the subject. Did you know that even with today's technology, we cannot recreate the pyramids? So, I woke up with this tune in my head and wrote the lyrics before they could disintegrate and grow fuzzy like dreams do. The original song was only around 3:47 minutes long, and had a working title of "The Chosen One". I brought in Matt Clark (ex-Adrenaline, A Far Cry From Innocence) to help me out with a few solos, and it turned out he had some great ideas for the whole guitar line on this song, as well as some great solo work. Together, we re-arranged the original song I had written to include some of the most face-peeling solo work on a Psychosis album to date and stretched the song to a healthy 5:30
